Ursino Restaurant

Ursino is a farm-to-table, upscale restaurant owned by Gourmet Dining Services where our goal is to offer wholesome and flavorful meals served in a spirit of reception and good will.  The menu will change a few times annually to reflect seasonal varieties as our kitchen seeks to utilize the freshest ingredients available at the height of flavor.  We pledge to procure ingredients from local and regional farms, growers, and producers that embrace sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices. Our promise is to nurture guests as ambassadors of hospitality and deliver a truly memorable experience.

Ursino is the former name of Liberty Hall, a national historical landmark that dates back to the American Revolution and is located on the Liberty Hall Campus at Kean University inside a LEED certified building. During the warm weather months, a farmer grows our produce and herbs on a four-acre garden and harvest natural honey produced on site (beginning spring, 2012). We also use fresh fruits picked from the small orchard at Liberty Hall, which consists of 20 acres of manicured lawns and gardens.   As a restaurant that supports sustainability, we believe it is important to be good role models and stewards of our community.  We strive to source ingredients from local and regional markets, and cooperatives to minimize the carbon footprint and patronize businesses that adopt best practices that respect the environment.
