Wednesday, September 1st, 2010, Al Frungillo joined Dr. Joel Bloom greet students to officially introduce one of Gourmet Dining's most important initiatives of the year: serving Cage Free Eggs and Free Range Chicken on the NJIT Campus.

As of September 2010, Gourmet Dining serves these two humane products on all college campuses. The impetus for this change came from many directions: first and foremost from the students, who expressed interest in eating a healthier, more natural product. Additionally, the Principles of Gourmet Dining consulted Josh Faulk from The Human Society, and confirmed their belief that this cause is a worthy investment.

Free range chickens and eggs from cage free hens have lives that are dramatically improved from that of a conventional bird. The animals have room to walk outside, spread their wings, and lay eggs in a nest, and are also less likely to contract diseases or breed salmonila because they are not as confined.

We are thrilled to have made this commitment on all Gourmet Dining campuses. Please let us know if you have any questions.
